In the flow of all great things…

For the last 2 weeks I’ve been in the flow of great things…

It has been indeed amazing: I met some new and quite extraordinary people who decided they really wanted my work in their life and not only did they make great purchases, but the meetings were wonderful and we got to genuinely appreciate each other during these short encounters where a lot is exchanged though few words are spoken, and perfect strangers get to feel oddly familiar and safe. One of these visitors of mine, a very accomplished being, centered in himself and very real, simple and accessible despite his great influence upon the world around him,  took some of my best work with him overseas, this last week. His was the most unexpected visit but then, it felt completely normal and casual. He came in with his beautiful daughter after seeing my work on the wall at the Coast Cafe, down the street, and we talked and laughed and bargained and bonded, it was a great moment.

That’s a part of what I do that is priceless !

I feel very blessed to visit with wonderful people from all over the world, to be the subject of their appreciation and the delighted witness of their reactions and emotions…

Not everyone can let themselves be completely vulnerable and touched by images that trigger primal bliss or longings for parts of themselves left ignored for too long… but the ones who do seem to be enjoying the experience and usually take the time to tell me about it… leaving me that much richer myself, in the wake of their visit. (And I’m not talking about material riches here, though I always love a good sale.)

Vulnerability is really the key, the necessary risk to take, the attitude that permits to connect, to love and to appreciate, and of course to be loved and appreciated as well…

Without letting oneself be vulnerable, one can not truly experience the full spectrum of emotions and feelings accessible to a human being, and there is a price to pay for not feeling the hard stuff… because of course then the heights of joy, bliss, glee, exhilaration and oneness can not be felt. And I am convinced that we all have those in our blue print, and that we deserve to feel and share them as far as we are willing to let them be felt…

That’s where healing becomes necessary for some of us… (most of us, maybe ?) That’s where it becomes clear that work has to be done, help to be seeked out, inner digging has to be considered… when we are not in touch with the bounty of pleasurable feelings that comes with the experience of being human…when we are numb or raw, or angry, or sad, so much so that bliss is a far fetched concept…

As an artist and as a woman, I feel that every time I encourage, trigger, suggest or support healing in myself and in others, I am doing one of the most important things in my life. In any case, one of the things that make me feel that I am in the flow of all great things…

More later…
