Summer delights…

For a good spell now we got that real summer weather here in Bolinas, and after all the fog and the rain of the month before, it feels like heaven !
My garden is growing fast, everything pushing and climbing and budding… it’s so delightful to go everyday and spend time there, tending to each particular group of plants and watering. while the bluebirds chirp a blue streak at me, because I work to close to their house ! They are so brave !

In the morning my studio is flooded with light, bright early, giving me an excellent lighting to check the work of the day before on the big easel…
My big painting is coming along pretty nicely, I am enjoying every bit of the making of it, even when I decided to repaint about 1/3 of the sky, because it was not flowing the way I intended… All the main masses are in, and a lot of details also, at least for a large part. Now birds are going to come in, and the large spread of grass that is the foreground… about 2 millions strands of grass to go… It’s wonderful though.  And the days are long and I can work late in natural light, which I adore.

Today I bring a piece to be juried for the Tiburon Art Festival. The drop off is in Belvedere, and the road to get there is going to be beautiful this morning…

Well it’s summer in my world, and I love it !
More later…
