Sustaining our dreams…

These last few years it’s been very much talked about by all the law of attraction believers and revealers: our dreams… how and why we should clarify and sustain them to see them take substance and shape into our physical reality.

The subject is controversial and open to endless speculations like the egg and the chicken first appearance… But no matter what our own belief is, whether we create our reality or that reality exists before our becoming conscious of it, or any kind of other possibility and interaction, we can always stop for a moment and give some thought to our dreams and wishes and look into what they tell us about our deep aspirations and longings that might not have another way to surface in our psyche due to the extreme busyness of life …

Because really, it’s all about longing and belonging, isn’t it ?

Some dreams are fleeting and volatile, like little light bugs mingling in our stream of ordinary thoughts. Other keep shining through like a beacon, a light house in the fog of confusion and doubt, or like a radiant sun when coasting into clarity and self-realization …

Most likely, the ones shining for a long time have been sustained consciously or not, by our own train of thoughts and orientations toward what they relate to…

Of course I am not talking here about the dreams happening in our sleep, but the ones in which we can indulge in what’s called “daydreaming” and that we can keep returning to,  and play with as much as we choose to.

Now, is that true ?  Do we really play with them as much as we can or do we censor them by habit, or fear, or lack of confidence in the unlimited supply of possibilities… because of education, experience, monotony, common consensus or what ever can limit our mental landscape ?

First of all, are we able to conceptualize our dreams, to talk about them, to write them down ? or are they just some wispy thoughts difficult to grasp and embody ? And when looking into one, how clearly can we do so, how many details and specifics can we project onto the canvas of our imagination ? how vast is our palette ? How daring are we to step out of our usual boundaries and leap into the freedom of creating new ones ?

That’s what visionaries do, you know… they start by daydreaming and go from there…

For some of us, unfortunately, dreaming might trigger some deep uneasiness and/or painful feelings, generated by an enormous dichotomy between one’s life and one’s dreams. In that case I don’t think dreaming “smaller” would be the solution, but maybe breaking an “impossible” dream down into a lot of small pieces that could be refined and polished one at a time and feel more accessible, more comfortable,  meanwhile being less acutely in opposition to the present situation…

However, the whole essence of dreaming being a complete abstraction at first, it’s essential that one doesn’t compare their dreams with what seems possible, but at the contrary, play with “what ifs…” without trying to see all the steps between here and there !  What really matters in sustaining our dreams and bringing them into life, is to be able to feel the end result, the achievement, the greatness of them, the sense of wonder they bring…

When we allow ourselves to explore larger imaginary situations, capabilities, realizations… reality tends to meet us half way under the form of opportunities, links, encounters, and all kinds of coincidences or mental breakthroughs that bring us closer to our dream…

There is that one word in English language, that I adore : Serendipity !

Serendipity can be the bridge between our dreams and our daily life… the art to use in a positive way everything that seems to appear randomly though appropriately at any given time… What a beautiful thing, isn’t it ?

Let’s give ourselves permission to dream and dance freely in the limitless ether of creation…

 more later…
